Course Requirements:

 

LRS-1 (2 Days)

To get the most out of LRS-1, you'll need a magazine-fed rifle capable of 1 MOA (0.3 MIL) accuracy or better, paired with a quality variable-magnification scope (minimum 12x) with exposed or capped turrets and return-to-zero capability. We teach and recommend Applied Ballistics software, downloadable free to your phone — loan Kestrel units are available on the day free of charge, if you don't have your own. Advanced LRS (3 Days)

Advanced LRS builds directly on LRS-1, so completion of an LRS-1 course with us is required before booking. On the equipment side, you'll need everything from LRS-1's baseline, plus a barrel capable of handling longer strings of fire — no sporter or mountain-hunter weight profiles — a tripod with a compatible rifle interface, and the free Kestrel LiNK Ballistics app installed on your phone. This course is restricted to eight shooters to keep the coaching ratio tight.

 

O.A. Sunday School Sessions

Because each Sunday School Session focuses on a different skill, what you'll need changes month to month — check the specific session's equipment note before you book. As a general rule, bring your centre-fire (or rim-fire, for our Rim-Fire session) rifle system, your ballistic software of choice, and your usual range gear; sessions involving tripod work or hunting scenarios will call for a tripod, shooting sticks, or a hunting pack, as noted against that date.

 

Tailored Training

Because Tailored Training is built around your specific goals, equipment requirements vary from course to course — we'll confirm exactly what you'll need once we've discussed your experience level, the skills you want to build, and your own gear. If you're completely new to the sport, we can also advise on rifle and optic choices before you invest in anything.

 

General (applies to every course)

All Orange Accuracy courses require a current firearms licence, photo ID, proof of ownership of the rifle you will use during your training (or registered user documentation from your appropriate Firearms Registry) and a recent National Police Check.

 

NB. Sunday School Sessions only require each participant to show their current Firearms Licence on the day.
